Houston recently endured the powerful impact of Hurricane Beryl, the second named storm of the 2024 season which defied expectations and brought forth powerful winds and heavy rainfall to our city. The storm’s torrential downpours caused significant flooding in various neighborhoods and the city's infrastructure faced immense pressure. Various households went several days without electricity, and businesses all throughout the city were shut down.
As an organization deeply rooted in Houston, we at SWE Homes have witnessed the strength and resilience of our fellow Houstonians during this challenging moment. Recognizing the economic hardships many are facing, we are pleased to announce an interest-free loan assistance program designed to help our existing customers who may have suffered damage to their homes, or personal property. This initiative is our way of providing immediate financial relief to those who may have been affected by Hurricane Beryl, ensuring our customers can focus on recovery without the added burden of financial stress.
Here are some key details about this new hardship loan program:
- $1,000 INTEREST-FREE LOAN: This loan option is suited for eligible first lien primary residence loan customers who are current.
- $500 INTEREST-FREE LOAN: Similarly, this loan option is suited for primary residence rental customers who are current.
- BOTH installment loan options will be made repayable over a 12-month period and MUST be set up via ACH.
- Customers who are interested and qualify for either of these loan options must apply on or before August 20th, 2024.
